Mission Yearbook

Verde Valley Presbyterian Church is located in Cottonwood, AZ and serves the people of the Verde Valley. Our congregation consists primarily of folks in the 55-85 year age range but several new families with teen-agers attending. In spite of our small size, we are active in mission work. In addition to supporting Presbyterian mission efforts, we contribute to a Domestic Violence program in our area. We also have members who participate in Habitat for Humanity, Silver Linings (caregivers), ESL programs, support to visually impaired, and Alzheimer's support. We contribute to the food program of Old Town Mission in Cottonwood. The men's group raises funds for various programs and projects in the church. We also participate as a congregation in the annual Relay for Life and sponsor a Boy Scout Troop.

We have a very active Presbyterian Women's group, a men's group, a women's spirituality group, and we offer monthly Services for Wholeness and Healing. Candlelight Advent and Lenten Taize-style services are offered. WE hold a weekly morning Bible study, a Sunday morning Adult class, and an evening small group study session. The church has become involved with Women's Empowerment, a program that provides micro-loans to women in Sonora, Mexico. We delight in hosting a variety of fund raiser for the program and has included a trip to the Mesa Arts Center to experience "Church Basement Ladies."
Looking Ahead
We are in the discernment process of finding a mission that will get us all so excited that our joy in serving the Lord will burst throughout our community.
