The Church was established March 23, 1954 and has a long history of being the focal point in the community, directing efforts geared towards improving the quality of life for our members and community residents. In fulfilling its mission, Southminster Church has responded to the need for pre-school education and the need for food and nutrition programs for children and the aging. The Southminster Head Start rogram received the first national award granted more than 40 years ago. The Head Start program has a long-standing tradition of delivering comprehensive and quality services designed to foster healthy development of low income children. The members of Southminster believe that to be a Christian, one must let other see Christ in all that we do with love and concern for all humanity.
