Established in 1956 in Yuma, Arizona, Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church reaches out in Mission to the Tohono O'Odham Indian Reservation in fellowship with the Santa Rosa Presbyterian Church on the reservation; we partner in ministry with Jesus Pan De Vida Presbyterian Church in Mexico through the ministry of Sonora Arizona Ministries/Ministerio Arizona Sonora. (SAM/MAS) Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church is also involved in local mission efforts including being a Habitat for Humanity Church partner and regular contributor to the Yuma Community Foodbank and Crossroads Mission.
At Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church, children are mentored in a relationship with Jesus Christ through Sunday School, Children's Church, and Puppet Ministry. Every Wednesday night the Church family gathers for dinner and classes for all ages. In conjunction with the Wednesday evening activity, a fully integrated Scouting program was implemented in 2008. This program offers Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scout activities to over 100 youth for ages Kindergarten through High School. One night- one location- and for the entire family. Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. followed by scouting activities for youth and a Bible study for adults.
Youth Group meets twice monthly. Our 9:00 a.m. worship is blended utilizing the gifts of children, youth, a Praise Team, Bell Choir, and Chancel Choir. The evangelism committee leads us in reaching out to our community in an effort to "Show God's Love in practical ways." The stewardship of our property includes its use by thirteen community groups who meet each week, including several AA groups and "Hand in Hand Christian Preschool".
