Statement of Purpose/Mission Statement/Greeting:
Mission Yearbook - Appendix Pinnacle Presbyterian Church In the heart of the Sonoran Desert, Pinnacle Presbyterian Church invites all people to hear God's story and experience God's love expressed in the life of Jesus Christ; and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we strive to equip the generations with the practices of our faith At the foot of the mountain we created a sanctuary. We come together as God's people, reaching out to make a difference in one another's lives, in our community, and around the world. We express our faithfulness through excellence in worship, the arts, serving meals, building homes, crossing borders, and nurturing children and youth. We are people who know the power of forgiveness, joy and, love. In our 19th year as a congregation many exciting things are unfolding for 2009! We near completion of an expansion of our campus: A new youth center for teenagers in the community, new meeting rooms, and office expansion. On World Communion Sunday the members of the church dedicated a Peace Pole with the prayer, 'May peace prevail on earth' in six different languages relevant to our location and current events in the world (The languages are Spanish, English, Arabic, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Navajo). Our Pastor Nominating Committee continues to prayerfully search for the next installed pastor who will lead the church in their ministry and work. In 2009 we will continue to build a partnership with Pastor Luc Deratus of Harmony Ministries in Haiti as he promotes education, health care and worship in the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Pinnacle continues to open its doors to the community, hosting Scottsdale Center For the Performing Arts concerts, Musicfest concerts and our very own Pinnacle Concert Series. The churches missional vision spills over into education as Pinnacle Presbyterian Preschool offers education to over 160 children from the community and is a leader in promoting the emergent curriculum and the Reggio Emilia philosophy. In 2009 the preschool will host multiple training events for teachers in the Southwest.
Driving Directions - Interactive Map Exit 101 Freeway at Scottsdale Road, travel north to Happy Valley Road. Turn east (right) onto Happy Valley Road and continue until approaching Pima Road. The church will be on your left on the northwest corner of Pima and Happy Valley Road. There are two entrances to the church parking lot from Happy Valley Road.
