Mission Yearbook - July 19, 2009
Parker Valley Presbyterian Church

Parker Valley Presbyterian Church is on the Colorado River Indian Tribes reservation. It is located next door to the CRIT Administrative Complex in Parker, Arizona.

Our congregation has a diverse ethnic background. We serve Native Americans from the four tribes, Mohave, Chemehuevi, Navajo and Hopi. Included among the Native Americans are worshipers of European and Mexican ethnicity.

Worship services recognize the cultural values of our congregation. We worship God using European, Mexican and Native American elements during the year.

Parker has a large influx of winter visitors who enjoy spending the time on the Colorado River. Many join our congregation for morning worship services during their stay.

Presbyterian missionaries to the Mohave tribe founded the church early in the 20th century. The Mohave Presbyterian Church at one time was not only a place of worship but was the center of community activities until the establishment of a western style government which was accepted by CRIT tribal members.

Our present church building was built in the 1960's and is located on 4 acres of beautifully landscaped lawn. Mature mulberry and native mesquite trees provide abundant shade during the hot summer months. RV hookups are available for worshipers traveling through the area and who wish to stop for worship and fellowship.

Our recently approved a Strategic Plan along with a Mission Statement identify two priorities in which will meet the Spiritual needs of congregation and community.

Worship services are at 11AM every Sunday throughout the year. We welcome everyone to join us for worship and fellowship in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
