Mingus View Presbyterian Church

Mingus View Presbyterian Church continues to minister to the needs of the people in Prescott Valley. Rev Lloyd Evans has been serving as pastor since November 2006. The church has an older congregation but is always encouraging young families to join.

The "Mountain Climbers", a group dedicated to the physical improvement of the church, recently competed the replacement of our main parking lot. This project was paid for by donations from the congregation.

Fellowship activities included a Luau in August, a Thanksgiving dinner, and pot-luck dinners were held quarterly. The church also participated in a joint Thanksgiving service with the local United Methodist church.

Mingus View continues to support mission projects both locally and beyond our borders. Special offerings were taken for One Great Hour of Sharing, the Christmas Joy offering, the Gideons and Habitat For Humanity. Donations from the church were also made to Neighbor to Neighbor as well as the Cook School.

Christian Education activities included a Lenten study on Handel's Messiah, a six week study on the Book of Acts and a Advent study using material from The Thoughtful Christian.

The worship and Music committee continue to offer a variety of musical offerings during the year. The Bell Choir performs quarterly and the choir sings each Sunday except during the summer. Membership has been down somewhat but attendance is good in relation to our total members.
