Statement of Purpose/Mission Statement/Greeting:
Our mission is to demonstrate God's love in the Arcadia community by:
  • Sharing Christ with those who enter our doors;
  • Proclaiming the Kingdom of God in all of our endeavors including worship, stydy, fellowship and outreach;
  • Providing opportunities for "hand-on" mission in our own neighborhood and beyond;
  • Offering educational opportunities and services that enable members, friends, and neighbors to enhance their lives through Jesus Christ
Mission Yearbook
Memorial Presbyterian Church

Since 2005, we have become a multicultural church and, consequently, the primary mission work that currently is being done in our congregation involves outreach to our Hispanic community both within our walls and in the surrounding area. Three Sundays a month, we have separate worship services. Once a month, we have a combined communion service in Spanish and English. Each week, we have an informal women's group to help our members learn both languages, have joint fellowship followed by language-specific adult classes, and have Sunday school for all our children together. We also have a nesting Tongan congregation that worships on Sunday afternoons as well as several 12-step groups that meet at various times throughout the week. We share our office space with RVNA, our neighborhood association, and do joint projects with them during the year.

We are looking forward to creating our new worship space. In the transformation process, we have returned to our "teenage" years. Due to financial challenges, we again are worshipping in the same place that we did as teenagers…our fellowship hall; consequently, we are pursuing multiple avenues of turning it back into a sanctuary.

We are concerned with avoiding any further major maintenance problems and being able to resume our unified mission outreach.
