The Presbytery of Grand Canyon is hereby called to meet for its Stated Meeting on Friday and Saturday, September 18-19, 2009 at Ganado Presbyterian Church in Ganado, Arizona. Registration is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM on Friday with the meeting to begin promptly at 4:00 PM.
Note that there is a one-hour time difference between Ganado and Metropolitan Phoenix and surrounding areas. The Navajo Nation is on Daylight Savings time, so they are one hour ahead of the rest of Arizona.
This meeting is being held in conjunction with the
Historic Landmark Dedication Ceremony for the Sage Memorial Hospital School of Nursing which will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Your invitation from the Presbytery of Grand Canyon, The Navajo Health Foundation and the Ganado Mission Association has been included with the Call Papers to this Meeting.
Highlights for this Stated Meeting as reflected on the Tentative Agenda are the following:
- The Theme of the Meeting is "Celebrating Native American Ministries"
- An opportunity at the beginning of the meeting for each church to share very briefly a highlight of a Mission activity during this past summer.
- A Worship Service on Friday night with celebration of the Lord's Supper, the Rev. Buddy Monahan, Chaplain at Menaul School, Albuquerque, NM. will deliver the sermon
- Enrollment from Inquirer to Candidate of Julie Miller from Christ Presbyterian Church
- Introduction of new Minister Members Wes Avram and Deborah Hubbard
- Report of Council/Trustees including the Report of the Interim Executive Search Committee
- Report of the Ganado Administrative Commission
- A Study of the Belhar Confession conducted by the Theology and Worship Committee
- Celebrating Sister Mission Partnerships

Please Note:
Cost for dinner Friday night will be $6.00 per person for presbyters and visitors. To help in planning for dinner preparation and to ensure that there will be enough food, presbyters bringing visitors are requested to contact Carolyn McBurney at 602-468-3820 or carolynm@pbygc.org to make a dinner reservation for their guests by September 15th. Dinner will be served in the Gymnasium across from the Ganado church.

You will be responsible for your own on lunch on Saturday following the presbytery meeting and before the Historic Landmark Dedication Ceremony. Food will be available for purchase on the Sage Memorial Hospital grounds. The Dedication Ceremony will be outdoors so you will want to dress accordingly; comfortable clothing, hat, and sunscreen and water bottle are advisable.
