    The Presbytery of Grand Canyon is hereby called to meet on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Gilbert Presbyterian Church in Gilbert. Registration is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM, with the meeting to begin promptly at 9:00 AM.

    Highlights for the November 14, 2009 Stated Meeting as reflected on the Tentative Agenda are the following:
    • The Service of Worship will be led by the Rev. Dr. Susan Kendall, Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Dr. Kendall earned her Bachelor's degree from Azusa Pacific University, her Master's of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary, and her doctorate from Claremont Graduate University, School of Religion: Program of Theology, Ethics and Culture. She has served as parish associate at Lewinsville Presbyterian Church in McLean, VA, program manager at Bread for the World Institute; head of staff at Reedwood Friends Meeting in Portland, OR, associate pastor at Saint Mark Presbyterian Church, Rockville, MD, and interim pastor at Yokohama Union Church, Yokohama, Japan. She has served as an editor/writer and office manager and director of proposal writing for Development Associates in Washington, D.C. and has worked with the Office of Chaplains, Frankfurt, Germany. Following the Service of Worship, there will be a time for dialogue with Dr. Kendall.
    • Planning Committee Focus Groups - In the materials included with the Call to this meeting, is A Conversation Guide and Response Form (Paper C-11) from the Planning Committee. Please take some time to read that document and reflect on statements provided in preparation for the focus group discussion.
    • Introduction of New Members - Helen Doh, Joseph Doh (HR), Bill Evans (Interim Pastor to Northminster), Gus Schmitt (HR)
    • A Board of Pensions report from Art Mills our Regional Representative
    • Introduction and Commissioning of Rev. Dave Wasserman as Interim Executive Presbyter
    • Nomination of Commissioners to the 219th General Assembly (2010)
    • Report of the Bills and Overtures Committee on Proposed Overtures to the 219th General Assembly (2010)
    • Celebrating the Clergy Spouse Ministry and Honoring Starr Luteri for her Ministry of Service

    Mingus View Presbyterian Church has made 106 Christmas Stockings to be given out to children at Ganado and Fort Defiance in December. To help with this project, you are invited to bring the following to the November Presbytery Meeting; new small toys, toiletry items, small books for young people and other gifts that would be appropriate to fill the stockings.

    We look forward to your participation in the November 14, 2009 Stated Meeting and the opportunity it provides to re-connect with one another, to celebrate community and to joyfully offer ourselves to God and be equipped for God's service in the world through Worship.
