The Presbytery of Grand Canyon is hereby called to meet on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at The Church at Litchfield Park. Registration is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM, with the meeting to begin promptly at 9:00 AM. The Church at Litchfield Park has extended their gracious invitation for us to meet with them as their Pastor is our very own Terry Swicegood.

There will be an Evangelism Workshop with Rev. James Cushman on Friday, November 2nd at the Interchurch Center, Phoenix (10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) sponsored by the Evangelism and Church Development Committee. See the flyer for details; reservations for the Friday event are requested by Wednesday, October 31st (602-468-3820).

Highlights for this Stated Meeting as reflected on the Tentative Agenda are the following:

• The theme of this meeting is Stewards of God's Creation
• The Service of Worship will be led by Dr. James Hershauer (Elder - University Presbyterian Church)
• Following the Executive Presbyter's Report there will be an opportunity to gather in small groups to discuss "The Future of Our Church" by extending this opportunity through the methodology of "Mutual Invitation". In addition churches have been invited to bring one, two or three young members.
• Planned reports among others include the Youth Triennium and Montlure
• The Committee on Ministry is recommending the Proposed Examination for Membership Policy for a Second Reading / Approval with no changes to the proposed policy as presented at the September 14-15th meeting. The Committee made this decision at its September 25, 2007 meeting following the September Presbytery Meeting
• The Nominations Committee will be bringing nominations for Minister and Elder Commissioners to attend the 218th General Assembly (2008) as all nominations are to be made in November with the actual election of Commissioners to take place at the January 2008 Stated Meeting.
• Robert Claus who has received a Pastoral Call as Associate Pastor to Desert Hills Presbyterian Church will be presented for membership and John Flahiff, formerly Associate Pastor to Church of the Master, will be honored on the occasion of his Honorable Retirement.
• Examination for Ordination of Lorelei Hillman, Interim Pastor designee, pending action of the Committee on Ministry at its October 30, 2007 meeting,
