The Presbytery of Grand Canyon is hereby called to meet for its Stated Meeting on Friday and Saturday, March 20-21, 2009 at Horizon Presbyterian Church, Phoenix. Registration is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM on Friday; with the meeting to begin promptly at 4:00 PM. Gila Crossing Presbyterian Church is serving as Co-host of the meeting.
Highlights for this Stated Annual Meeting as reflected on the Tentative Agenda are the following:
Friday
- Celebration of Ordination Anniversaries
- Introduction of New Minister Members - Robert Dulaney and George Saylor
- Celebration of the Honorable Retirement of Ralph Meredith and Al Gephart
- Conversation over the Evening Meal
- Report of the Executive Presbyter
- Service of Worship. The Rev. Dr. Philip Butin, President of San Francisco Theological Seminary will deliver the Sermon.
Saturday
- Morning Devotions will be led by Rev. Ron Hawkins
- Examination for Commissioned Lay Pastor - Audrey Jefferson to Ganado Presbyterian Church
- Presentation of Rebate Checks by Dr. Mickie Choi, Regional Representative of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Investment and Loan Program.
- Report of the Nominations Committee
- Report of the Educational Ministries Committee
- Approval of Rules of Decorum and Debate and Voting on the Proposed Amendments to the Constitution
- Celebration of the Lord's Supper
We look forward to your participation in the March Stated Meeting and the opportunity it provides to re-connect with one another, to celebrate community and to joyfully offer ourselves to God and be equipped for God's service in the world through Worship.
