Mission Statement:
Loving and Sharing Christ from the Heart of Phoenix

Mission Yearbook:
Mission Outreach continues to be a strong focus at HFPC. Among the many causes supported are local, national and international needs. An interest in helping Veterans access available support in the community is being met as interested volunteers are trained to be "system navigators". Another opportunity to serve has taken form in a team entitled "All Nations Ethiopia". This team works alongside the El-Bethel congregation which meets at HFPC in establishing schools in Ethiopia. We are fortunate to have a very active board of Deacons. Our Deacons are not funded by the church budget. Their source of income is strictly from gifts by the congregation. The Deacons make annual disbursements to many local causes such as "Interfaith cooperative Ministries" and "Teen Challenge". There is also a fund call "Family Assistance" which gives aid to those needing occasional help with living expenses. The Mission Outreach effort further provides strong support to the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance program which makes long-term aid to victims of natural and man-made disasters worldwide. A monthly schedule of giving opportunities called "Heart for Mission" is presented to the congregation. Two of the opportunities are "Undie Sunday" and ""ouper Bowl Sunday". We are truly blessed to have several avenues of Mission Outreach to engage in at HFPC.

Highlights for 2010:
Historic First Presbyterian Church (HFPC) stands on the edge of an reemerging downtown Phoenix. Our future is all about taking the Bible seriously, embracing downtown, and improving our partnership with El Bethel (Ethiopian) and the world. In 2011 we hope to make our second trip to Ethiopia where we support the planting of over 38 churches and rural education. Additionally, we are excited about bringing on a Christian educator to enhance our educational offerings.

Prayer Requests:
Please pray for the important ministries this vibrant congregation is bringing to the downtown Phoenix community.
