Statement of Purpose/Mission Statement/Greeting:
Mission Yearbook
Flagstaff Federated - February 17, 2008

"Gathering Inclusively … Socially & Ecologically Active … Transforming through Prayer and Study" reads the three-part mission statement at Federated Community Church in Flagstaff. It is a statement that guides, as well as reflects, the undertaking of ministry in the name of Christ Jesus at Federated Church and beyond.

Situated in a central, prominent location in the downtown area of Flagstaff, Federated Church is known for its active ministries for the environment, the homeless and the hungry, as well as its outreach to those interested in a more progressive Christian theology.

Proximity to the Navajo Reservation and the Hopi Reservation provides the opportunity to reach out to native brothers and sisters. A rich tradition continues in various ways.

Affiliated with both the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the United Methodist Church, Federated Community Church has a third membership roll, too. Members may also choose to be on the "Community" roll, instead of affiliated with either of the mainline Protestant denominations. This makes for variety, as well as richness, in many respects-not to mention the drawbacks of multiple personalities!

Federated Community Church continues its more than one-hundred years of witness and service in the name of God as known through Jesus the Christ. Visit the church web site at www.flagstafffederatedchurch.org.
