Mission Yearbook, 2010 Our Mission Committee budget for 2010 will be ten percent of the total church budget (expected to be approximately $90,000 for mission, up from $57,000 in 2009). Those funds will be equally split between the wider church (Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly) and local mission. In 2008, non-budgeted congregational gifts for mission totaled $35,507 and funds raised for mission by various organizations totaled another $55,000. Thus, our grand total giving to mission in 2010 is expected to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $170,000. The local mission projects to which we contribute include four educational programs, five hunger programs, four housing/shelter programs, two sister churches, three programs serving women and children, and four programs serving the aging and dying. Highlights for 2010: We feel great joy in the Session decision to give a tithe of the church budget to mission beyond the walls of our congregation.
