Our original congregational base drew from the retirement community of Carefree. In recent years, however, our congregation has developed into an intergenerational community. This is due in part to the many family housing developments that have sprung up and the church's intention to minister to all people: young, old and in between. DHPC is very mission-minded and supports mission locally, nationally, and globally. We currently have a significant partnership with our sister church, First Presbyterian Church of Leupp on the Navajo reservation. This partnership with the Leupp congregation is over 20 years old. Each fall, the Leupp congregation leads our Sunday morning services and we reciprocate in the spring. This partnership has lead to an understanding of our cultures and has increased our spiritual bond with each other. DHPC begins a new era in 2008. The Rev. James Noble joined our congregation as Head of Staff in April 2005. Since that time, many re-organizational changes have occurred. With these changes, the church is poised to expand its ministry to members and friends of the congregation, reach out to the un-churched in our community, increase our participation in mission, and re-vitalize our youth programs. Enthusiasm and excitement are high as we move to realize a new fellowship hall, more programs, and greater participation from each member of the congregation in the work, ministry, and fellowship of our church. The church is on the NE corner of Carefree Highway and Scottsdale Rd. From Scottsdale Rd. - Go north to Carefree, past 101, Lone Mountain, Terravita Way.
