Mission Yearbook 2008
Church of the Master
The Church of the Master has been in mission in the East Valley since 1965.
The church has sought to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord by being in mission to the surrounding community through our C.A.N Ministry (Christian Assistance Network) by providing food, clothing, vouchers for gas and paying for utilities and lodging. We serve many area nursing homes providing worship and Bible Study. Through Sewing for the Needy we provide layettes, lap robes, and clothing to care centers throughout the state. We work with the East Valley Men's Homeless Center and the Back to School Program at Taft Elementary. We provide Thanksgiving Baskets to 125 families per year and Angel Tree gifts at Christmas. We are also involved with supporting Habitat for Humanity, mission trips to Caborca & Sonora, Mexico, a Navajo Reservation, Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka, Alaska, and Christian refugees from Ethiopia, Sudan & Kenya, missionaries in India, Thailand & Burma, Kazakhstan, China, Niger Republic. We seek to be faithful stewards by contributing 10% of our church's income to missions.
PRAYERS NEEDED
The Church of the Master needs your prayers during this transition year. Our senior pastor relocated and our associate pastor retired. We've other staff changes as well. We have hired an Interim pastor and interim associate, and a wonderful couple as youth directors. We need your prayers to be faithful in all areas of our Lord's ministry and mission as we work together with a new staff, Session, and Board of Deacon members in 2008.
