Guidelines for Worship Of the Presbytery of Grand Canyon
Revised January 2007
Worship of the Presbytery of Grand Canyon shall reflect the distinctive character of Reformed worship in a manner that engages the variety of our people. The Directory of Worship provides the necessary guidelines and inspiration for patterns of worship. There are a few necessary elements that are part of our planning and it is the expectation of the Theology and Worship Committee of PGC that those engaged in the leadership of worship will review abide by these guidelines that we may better glorify God.

Mission Yearbook - Appendix Theology and Worship Committee The Theology and Worship Committee faithfully serves to enrich the spiritual and worship life of the presbytery by seeking to promote dialogue and unity of faith among Presbyterians in Arizona. This relatively small committee ordinarily offers two workshops each year that highlight current issues in the fields of worship and theology. The committee has created and maintains a list of worship resources recommended by members of the presbytery and professors in the Presbyterian seminaries. (The list is available on the committee's page at the presbytery Web site.) Last but not least, this committee is responsible for the worship life of the presbytery, designing the services, identifying preachers, and calling elders, ministers, and others to lead the presbytery in worship. As our denomination wrestles with a wide range of theological issues and as churches in general seek to make worship intelligible for our changing age, this committee is often called upon by the presbytery to address a variety of issues of concern or dissent. Your prayers for wisdom and creativity are appreciated as this group of believers works to enrich and inform.
