Mingus View Presbyterian
Prescott Valley
Our Mission:
Mingus View Presbyterian Church continues to minister to the needs of the
people of Prescott Valley. Rev. Lloyd Evans has been serving as pastor since
November 2006. The church has an older congregation but is always encouraging
young families to join.
Fellowship activities included a Cinco de Mayo
celebration and a Thanksgiving and Easter dinner. Pot-luck dinners are also
scheduled quarterly. The church works with other churches in the area through
joint services on Thanksgiving and Good Friday. Each month we have two breakfast
gatherings in a local restaurant for fellowship and conversation. A movie night
has also been a popular event.
Mingus View continues to support mission
projects both locally and beyond our borders. A mission donation is included in
our annual budget for mission projects within our Presbytery. Special offerings
were taken for the One Great Hour of Sharing, the Christmas Joy offering. Local
projects included the Yavapai County Food Bank and the Neighbor To Neighbor
program.
The worship
and music program have enriched our worship experience with special offerings
during the year. The Bell Choir performs quarterly and the choir sings each
Sunday except during the summer months.
The Women's Group is active with
monthly circle meetings and special events for mission speakers. They also host
an annual craft fair as a fund raising project.
