John Calvin Presbyterian
Apache Junction
We are situated at the
Foothills of the Superstition Mountains in the far east valley. We celebrated
our 45th Anniversary last October with a two day event.
The church helped to sponsor childrens' participation in
summer camp. The Deacons continue to care for the needy and shut-ins,
sending them cards. They also serve during the fellowship hour and for Melodrama
play productions.
We support of the
five special offerings: One Great Hour of Sharing, Pentecost, Peacemaking,
Christmas Joy and the Basic Mission pledge.
Our Operation Christmas Child shoebox mission grows more successful each year. We are a relay
collection site and collected 772 boxes last year.
Throughout the year, John Calvin has bins in the narthex for
several mission projects: Headstart, Project Help, and Apache Junction Reach Out
Food Bank. Our church is open to the community for organized meetings such as
Girl Scouts, Chat and Sew, Radiozona and Melodrama Plays. We are also a home to
a Montessori school.
Presbyterian Women are active with Headstart, Project Help, Cook Native American Ministries and Hope Women's Center.
