Gila Crossing Presbyterian

Our Mission:
Gila Crossing Church was organized in 1894. It is part of the legacy of Dr. Charles H. Cook, the Presbyterian missionary who brought the gospel to people of the Pima and Maricopa Tribes in the latter part of the 19th Century. It is located in western part of the Gila River Indian Community in the southwest part of the Phoenix Valley. It has an active program of ministry in its community.
On Sunday mornings there are 35 to 40 persons attending worship services. A monthly "Family Night" activity includes a pot-luck dinner and worship. Organizations include Adult and Children's choir, a Youth Group, and a Ladies Group. Fund raising efforts are conducted for various purposes including a holiday season project that provides food baskets for needy families in the community.

The congregation considers itself a partner in ministry along with all the other churches of the Presbytery. Gila Crossing has developed a direct partnership with Horizon Presbyterian Church and both congregations benefit from this relationship.
