Mission Statement:                       

Desert Palms Presbyterian Church will proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, enable people to grow in their faith, and empower them to share God’s love among our congregation, our community and the world.

Our Mission:

Our Mission Committee budget for 2010 will be ten percent of the total church budget (expected to be approximately $90,000 for mission, up from $57,000 in 2009). Those funds will be equally split between the wider church (Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly) and local mission. In 2008, non-budgeted congregational gifts for mission totaled $35,507 and funds raised for mission by various organizations totaled another $55,000. Thus, our grand total giving to mission in 2010 is expected to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $170,000.

The local mission projects to which we contribute include four educational programs, five hunger programs, four housing/shelter programs, two sister churches, three programs serving women and children, and four programs serving the aging and dying.
