Trinity Presbyterian, Chinle

Our Mission:

The remodel project is all done and we're focusing on programming now.  We have a youth director, from Colonial Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN.

 We have anywhere from 15-20 little ones in Sunday school each Sunday now and so we are going to have two classes and finally get to use the new nursery for "Wee Believe" with the under-5-years-old age group.  We have five teachers (3 teams) , Adult bible study Also, we have a 'tweens group (i.e. 5th, 6th & 7th grades: "between" being little and being a teenager) on Wednesdays after school. 

 We are planning a 'Women in Sobriety' group... We'd like to launch a 'Men in Sobriety' group, too.

*We continue to minister to Toyei assisted living program in Chinle which provides housing and programs for medically managed schizophrenics & the severely mentally ill here in the Navajo Nation.

*We will be getting our battered women/families emergency housing up and running this fall.  The room is ready (thanks again to our FL partners).  "Ama Doo Alchini Bighan" (Home for Mothers and Children) is the battered women's center here but the closest shelter is anywhere from one and a half to three hours away.. We are intentionally transitioning from 'landlord' to a 'pastoral care' role and will be offering a weekly chapel for the sisters and brothers who come to SoquelCare each day.
