The mission of the church is to grow as a vibrant community of faith. Through our diversity of age and culture we work to enhance the Christian life of the community around us.

Chandler Presbyterian Church serves this mission by:

Offering Meaningful Worship

The church will offer the opportunity for all who enter to experience the joy and the presence of God. The way we celebrate and share the Word of God together shall acknowledge our diverse community and traditions of faith.

Building an Enriching Ministry for Youth and Families

The church will provide a ministry of Christian Education that nurtures and attracts participation of all youth and families. We are dedicated to helping parents pass on faith in Christ to their children. We recognize that this ministry is vital to support our families, encourage new members, and assure the future of our church.

Developing Visible and Engaging Viable Mission Outreach

The church will encourage members to share our bountiful blessings in a more personal way through hands-on mission programs. In this way we fulfill Christ’s call to love those less fortunate than ourselves.

Encouraging Participation and Developing Leadership

The church will prepare, empower, and support members to take leadership roles in the congregation. We will help identify and develop the unique spiritual gifts of each member for building up the body of Christ.

Mission Yearbook: - June 7, 2009
Chandler Presbyterian Church

Chandler Presbyterian has been serving the southeast Valley for nearly 60 years. Originally located downtown, six years ago we relocated our church to better serve the growing population in the area surrounding the city.

Our congregation is also growing in membership and in spiritual life. We begin 2009 with 186 members and an average Sunday worship attendance of 130, which includes families with children, retirees from nearby adult communities and everything in between.

Worship provides the foundation for Christian nurture. While traditional in nature, contemporary aspects are added each Sunday with an emphasis on music, lay leadership and special seasonal events. Music includes children's and new intergenerational hand bell choirs, an adult and children's choirs and other instrumental music.

Our educational ministry includes two adult classes, a Women's Circle, Sunday School for all ages, youth groups for older elementary and youth, plus a seasonal mid-week program for children. Following a recent Mission Study under the leadership of interim pastor Larry Eaken, plans are being made to strengthen youth ministry, expand hands-on mission and develop our leadership potential.

Our members are generous in their support of the mission of the Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly, of the special offerings and many community groups such as Chandler Christian Community Center and My Sister's Place (a domestic violence shelter). Our building is regularly used for community groups, including AA, a Mom's club and homeowners' associations.

We continue to be grateful for God's blessings to us and for being able to share in our Presbyterian family.
